Smoke Machine
We have a fairly basic smoke machine.
Haze Machine
We have a Look Solutions Unique 2.1 Hazer. This is a 3 channel DMX hazer with a decent output for our space. One thing to note is that the fan on full is quite loud for a theatre setting.
Strobe
We have two strobes, a Martin Atomic 3000 and a strobe controlled via handheld remote, NO DMX.
The Atomic 3000 has 3 modes, utilising 1, 3 and 4 channels respectively.
The non-DMX strobe can either be operated:
- Using the remote, on the end of a very long jack lead
- Using a preset speed on the unit itself and paired with a load lamp to connect to the dimmers. This allows on/off control from the lighting desk.
Fire Alarm
For the use of smoke and haze effects the fire detection system in the theatre must be isolated. This is task that the TD will check off before a show.
The action of isolating the fire alarm must only be carried out by an authorised member of committee.
